What is repeated, has already been, otherwise it could not have been repeated, but exactly the fact that it has been, makes the repetition ‘the new’. When you say that life is a repetition, you also say that the existence that has been, is also already in the process of becoming” – Søren Kierkegaard

This somewhat baffling description reminds me of a snake that hungrily bites its own tail. The tail as a symbol of past recognition and the head as a symbol of future expectations – while its long body, upon which we repeatedly walk, is this present moment – a path that leads us around and around in endless circles.

A repeated pattern of endless circles is spreading throughout the installation.  When one has stopped, another begins. A confusing surface of signs that seems unreadable, or a mysterious language that may hold unretainable knowledge. But we may have to move beyond the static pattern and look at its behavior. The experience of a repeated act in motion may open for something unknown.

Repetition is… an act in motion, by which truth becomes known, together with and through the repetition experience” – Clare Carlisle

The Exhibition was from d. 16. of May - 2. of June.

At KMD: The Department of Fine Art, Music and Design, Bergen
