Submerged

Solo exhibition at Gallery Bokboden Sep. 2017

To let something disappear completely into something by suddenly opening up
To cocoon or encapsulate something so that it completely disappears
To make something or someone an integrated part of yourself in a fast and efficient way
To claim a person's feelings, powers or interests; to enchant completely
To destroy completely; to annihilate

Submerged, 5 X 2 X 2 m. Sound: 1 min. Sep. 2017
The piece ‘Submerged’ is an installation that is made of chicken-wire, fabrics, threads and latex.
It fills up the whole installation-space and the viewer is invited to step into it, go inside it and around it, close to the sidewall. The latex adds a strong, indeterminable smell and you can hear a metallic, rumbling sound.

It is a cave, weird and scary, a nest, protecting and hairy, the inside of a body, disturbing and caring, the bottom of the sea, tempting and enchanting.
